Just put Adam to bed and it really didn't go well.
He asked me to tell him a story and I tried to tell him about when I was young but kids today are so ruined by what they watch on tv and online...
For example, I told him about the time my uncle gave me a really wonderful gift that turned out to be sort of evil so me and about 8 other guys decided we had to destroy it but he called me a liar! Said this wasn't a true story and that I was just trying to fool him. Something about "Frodo" but I told him I didn't know what he was babbling about but fine, no more about my trip to the river of fire to destroy my uncle's ring.
Next, I told him about the time I came home and found my aunt and uncle (different uncle) DEAD, burned to a crisp by an enemy I didn't even know. I went to seek the counsel of an older friend of mine (obviously my older friends used to be of more use, advice-wise, than my current, crazier older friends. Anyway, we went off on an adventure in this super-fast ship with a cool pilot and a big ape and AGAIN, the boy calls me a liar! Actually, he called me Luke but whatever, said I had to tell him a REAL STORY.
So I told him about the time I bought my first car and it turned out it was more than just a car, it was a powerful robot from outer space. Adam screamed something about "Bumblebee" and told me I still wasn't be straight with him.
When I tried to tell him about the time I lived under my uncle's stairs until I found out I was actually a wizard, he yelled that that was enough stories for one night.
Too bad kids are so jaded these days. Don't believe nothin'.
