I saw this tour.
It was 1980-81, about 19 years before I became a father but news that Clarence Clemons passed away yesterday has me feeling a little nostalgic on this Father's Day.
There is about a 3 minute sax solo in the middle of this clip. Enjoy the genius of it.
You know, I've seen Springsteen concerts at least 7 or 8 times but I've never bothered seeing his solo tours. Just couldn't get excited at the prospect of his appearing without the full band. To me, the pleasure has always been in the camaraderie of it all, the joyous spectacle.
I hope to see him play live again one day but it won't be the same without the Big Man.
